QUALIFICATIONS
Mr. Zylstra is a retired Deloitte Consulting principal specializing in
manufacturing performance improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain
Systems, customer relationship management, and ERP.
His twenty years of consulting experience with Deloitte Consulting
encompassed manufacturing operations management, supply chain management, engineering, and
information systems. Kirk’s prior industry experience includes the engineering
and operations functions within medical equipment and heavy equipment
manufacturing.
Kirk teaches operations management
and supply chain at the University of Washington Business
School part time. He continues to consult and write and is
currently researching the trends and supply chain
implications of RFID technologies.

material handling, while reducing complexity of scheduling. |

CAREER EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting, Mr. Zylstra
managed the production planning and control departments at a high technology
medical equipment manufacturer and an industrial pump manufacturer.
In these positions he was responsible for meeting customer delivery
requirements, supporting efficient manufacturing performance, minimizing
inventory levels, and coordinating activities among engineering, manufacturing,
and marketing. At both of these
companies, Mr. Zylstra led the implementation of fully integrated
(ERP)
information systems.
